Battle of Belzer

Approximately 400 Boy Scouts from the Crossroad of America Council participated in the “Battle of Belzer.” Camp Belzer provided the boys a day-long education about various aspects of the Civil War. The Scouts were assigned to be either Union or Confederate soldiers. Reenactors provided the historic context of rations and cooking, firing a canon, learning about weapons, and marching drills. The day concluded with an energetic mock battle punctuated with the loud booms of canon fire.
