Pictures are really two dimensional but can show depth by visual clues within the frame. Sometimes we see objects at various distances from the camera. In this case, a Scout works on a burro in the foreground while another teams packs a burro in the rear of the frame. If a picture has some interesting objects in both the foreground and background and the viewer pauses to study both, the picture shows depth.
