2012 October Workshop

COAC First Workshop for Adult Volunteers
The first workshop in our council on October 20, 2012 at the Golden-Burke Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (bring your own lunch). There will be a discussion about storytelling with several breaks for attendees to practice sound gathering, editing sound and synchronizing pictures with a soundtrack. Methods of capturing natural sound and making pictures will be demonstrated at a program that day at adjoining Camp Belzer. This workshop is to give the basic instruction for you to find a story and produce a multimedia story ready for the web. The second step is for attendees to do just that.

The following Saturday, October 27, 2012, there will be an all day program at Camp Belzer with a Civil War theme. There will be loads of picture and sound opportunities and I will be there for support. If you are unable to come for a four-hour period (8 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), you will find a story on your own with the youth you serve.

You will have about two weeks to produce your story and the final workshop session will be a group showing and critique on the evening of November 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Golden-Burke Center.

Upon successful completion of the program you will be asked to conduct two workshops of your own with youth.
