Tom Copeland is a 20-year veteran photojournalist that most recently worked with Cameras In Action Stock Photography traveling the country covering 30 or more NASCAR races for 7 seasons. Before that he was a staff photographer at the News & Record (Greensboro, NC) for close to 15 years. Copeland is a 1990 Graduate of Randolph Community College with an Associates Degree in Photographic Technology in Photojournalism. During his career Copeland has covered many news events such as military deployments, military homecomings and multiple hurricanes including Hurricane Floyd in 1999 that destroyed much of Eastern North Carolina. Other major sports assignments include 15 Daytona 500’s, 9 Brickyard 400’s, 4 NCAA Final Fours, 1999 US Open, 1996 and 2001 Women’s US Open along with most recently being the Photo Editor of Masters.Com at the 2011 and 2012 Masters.

One of his most rewarding assignments has been being on the Photo Staff for the National Scout Jamboree in 1997, 2001, 2005, and in 2010. He looks forward to continuing this tradition in 2013 and for many years beyond that.

Awards and honors include Eagle Scout, 1989 Southern Short Course Student Photographer of the year, from 1990 to 2003 many National Press Photographer Association, NC Press Association and NC Press Photographer Association Awards, and 2002, 2005, 2007 National Motorsports Press Association Photographer of the Year.

Copeland now lives in Swansboro, NC with his wife Llewellyn and children Graham and Callie.
