Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island is a re-enactment of the first Scout camp organized by Baden Powell. Staff of the camp take on the persona of youth and adults of the day. Contemporary Scouts can come into the camp and step back in history. They learn the skills and play the games that were played in the beginning of the Boy Scout movement. This story was produced for the National Jamboree website in order to give parents and Scouts who were not able to attend the jamboree a glimpse into life at Brownsea Island.

You will note there is a picture and sound of cans being knocked off a board. I took some hits getting that picture. Fortunately, the modern use of tennis balls rather than rocks saved me.
